About Us

Home Awaits Sydney is a small, independently run dog shelter. We are not a registered commercial entity and operate entirely through the goodwill of volunteers and supporters.

Use of Our Website

Our website is provided for informational purposes only. We do our best to keep all information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is free of errors. Content may change at any time without prior notice.

Donations

All donations made to Home Awaits Sydney are voluntary and non-refundable. Funds are used to cover the costs of food, veterinary care, shelter maintenance, and the daily needs of the dogs under our care. Because we operate on a small scale, we cannot provide tax receipts or official donation statements.

Adoptions

Adoption is a lifelong commitment. By submitting an adoption application, you confirm that:

- You are at least 18 years of age

- You have the legal right to keep a dog at your residence

- You understand the financial and emotional responsibilities of dog ownership

- You agree to provide a safe, loving, and permanent home

We reserve the right to decline any adoption application without giving a reason, in the best interest of the dog.

Returns

If for any reason you can no longer care for a dog adopted from us, we ask that you contact us immediately. We will always take a dog back rather than see them rehomed without our knowledge.

Limitation of Liability

We do our best to ensure that every dog in our care is healthy and well-socialised before adoption. However, we cannot be held responsible for any behaviour, illness, or damage that occurs after a dog has left our shelter.
